Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, on February 24, 1955. He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs and grew up in Mountain View, California, which was then in the heart of Silicon Valley. From a young age, Jobs showed an interest in electronics and computers, and he worked on various projects in his garage with his friend, Steve Wozniak.

After attending Reed College in Portland, Oregon, for one semester, Jobs dropped out and returned to California. He then worked for Atari as a technician before starting Apple Computer with Wozniak in 1976. The company began selling the Apple I computer in 1976, and the Apple II followed in 1977. Jobs played a key role in the development and marketing of these early computers.

In 1984, Apple introduced the Macintosh, which was a revolutionary computer with a graphical user interface and mouse. However, Jobs' aggressive management style led to conflicts with the board of directors, and he was forced out of Apple in 1985. He then founded NeXT Computer, which focused on developing high-end workstations for the education and business markets.

In 1986, Jobs bought Pixar Animation Studios from George Lucas. Pixar went on to create hit movies such as Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles, and was eventually acquired by The Walt Disney Company.

In 1997, Apple bought NeXT Computer, and Jobs returned to Apple as an advisor. He became CEO in 2000 and led the company to develop a series of innovative products, including the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. These products transformed the technology industry and made Apple one of the most valuable companies in the world.

Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003 and underwent a liver transplant in 2009. He resigned as CEO of Apple in August 2011 due to his declining health, and he passed away on October 5, 2011, at the age of 56. Jobs' legacy as an innovator and entrepreneur continues to influence the technology industry and inspire future generations.
